majors??!?!?!careers!!?!?!???future!!?!?!

scary!!!!

Origionally when i first set off to college I was pretty sure that i wanted to be an architect....then i found out that they're all work and no play. and i really dont think that would have worked out at all.  so i decided that art history would be the place for me...until i realized that they just write a lot of essays about art.  I like to be exposed to it look at it and learn about it and all but please, dont make me write about it. PLEASE!  it was when i took an international relations class that i realized how i loved to learn about international policies and trade and read articles about current events...but then they started making us read court cases and textbooks and write RESEARCH PAPERS THAT ARE 15 PAGES LONG!!!!!!!! die. ohhhhh my luck with majors was running out.  i could really not take this for much longer.  so i pondered. and pondered. and pondered.   not so much on what i wanted to be when i grew up or anything like that...but about what kind of major i could stand and also manage decent grades in for the remainder of my college career....and then i thought about all the things that i am interested in and that hold my attention, all the things i surround myself with and love.  This is my list:  pencil cases, planners, paper, notebooks, pens, mod podge, magazines, stencils, exacto knives, japan, scotland, travel, languages, water, reading, films, animation, hayao miyazaki, aya takano, tsumori chisato, music, music, music, boxes, letter writing, coloring, painting, frisbee, tea, beading, internet, my external hard drive, long socks, dresses, coats, friends, knowledge, books, libraries, design.  wait.  there!  GRAPHIC DESIGN.   i think this should work out.

its been a while...

Summer is over and it has yeilded many rewards.  I took it upon myself to start learning Japanese...and have progressed so much as to even begin a relationship with a native speaker...heh, awesome....  I also quit my drudgery of a job at the on campus dining facility known as The Market, and have taken up arms as an enforcer of campus parking...out of character...dually noted. Did I mention the near $1.00 raise in salary and ease of walking around campus as opposed to cooking over a hot wok all day?  That should clear it up.  Classes are the norm, so much reading so little will power.  Well, its getting late...maybe i will post again in another 7 months.

My hearing sucks these days.  It could have something to do with my sinuses. maybe, i'm not sure, but I am pretty sure that it makes me hard to have a conversation with.  for now.  I got new roomates.  They are a really good time.   For instance, last night we cleaned out the back "storage room"/"hookah room" and made it look and smell 10x better than before.  Then we just sat there and chatted about everything and it was so peaceful.  I miss having people around that I feel I can really talk to.  Not just small niceties but actual conversations.  I hate small talk. hate.
There are so many things to look forward to this semester.  For one, I am going to start going to practice more often.  Also, possibly a doctor visit is in order to check out that knee...who knows.  Tuesday nights I'll have class for three hours and Thursdays are reserved for ping pong followed by mate and hookah time.  This does not leave much time for the drum troupe I joined last semester, which I obviously forgot about.  Hmm, hopefully we can practice on the weekends.
I have devised a secret plan to raise my GPA.  It consists of taking Spanish I, when I had up to Spanish IV in high school.  I'm pretty sure this is considered a lame thing to do, but I don't think that I really care.  I hope there are more Japanese people this semester at work to distract me from missing all of the awesome ones that graduated.  We will see.

i hate music snobs. and everything snobs. they make me smolder inside.

i am potentially going somewhere for new years.  I should work on my English skills if I want to teach it in Japan.  Maybe.

Hey, I joined the Malaysian 24 Season Drum Troupe.  The funny thing is, most of the members are Japanese.  That is probably why I joined it.  Anyways, I think I have carpal tunnel.

I was looking at some of my old clothes and came across a pair of nice gray pants that I wore about two times before they shrank into nothingness.  That was before I took textiles.  With one look I noticed the pilling and how the seams had scrunched together.  After a glance at the tag my suspicions of their woolen nature were confirmed.
Ohhh, the things you learn in college.
